My recent letters to the NATIONAL DAILIES on various important subjects INCLUDING the Continued / Persistent / Ruthless and MERCILESS ISRAELI GENOCIDE in Gaza!

LETTER NO :1

Dear Sir,

                 Subject: Apropos the UNHRC Resolution on Human Rights Violations and War Crimes by Israel in Gaza ; that Failed to Pass because of “Increasingly Unjustified Use of Veto Power ” by the US of A, that it once again used, for the Umpteenth Number of Time by now,  to bail out its Surrogate / Stooge in West Asia – the Terrorist State of Israel! Date: July 27,2014

                 Most recent editorials / articles in the National Dailies by many reputed journalists have unfortunately been not only equivocal but also, many of them have Fudged on facts; both historical as well as current so as to appear even-handed to both parties to the Crisis in Gaza and in fact very few amongst these /editorials articles have really ‘Called a Spade a Spade’ unequivocally, without mincing any words!

                 It is high time that all the News Dailies that have a reputation of being National as well as Forthright in their Coverage of National and International Events do boldly identify  who the Real Victim  (Gazan Civilian Population) and the Aggressor (Israel)  has been this time around as also on  earlier two occasions in 2009 and 2012 that the  Commissioner Ms Navi Pillay has purportedly Recalled during the discussion on the Latest UNHRC resolution against Human Rights Violations and War Crimes by Israel against the Civilians in Gaza  who are being Pounded Relentlessly and Mercilessly by Bunker and Concrete Blasting Sophisticated Bombs and Missiles by Israel and to Compound their misery they have  also been Entrapped  on the narrow Gaza Strip by an Inhuman and Sadistic Embargo imposed by Israel since several years now, on both its Land Exits as well as on the Mediterranean Coast.

                 The unabated and unbridled Army Actions of Israel’s Gargantuan and  Behemoth like Ruthless and Complex Military Machine comprising of Apache Helicopters, F16 Fighter Bombers and Drones as well as Advanced Battle Tanks on Civilians in Gaza has already resulted in nearly 1000 Casualties and more than 3000 have been Grievously Injured (who may all end up becoming Permanently Lame or with Damaged Mental Faculties).These figures include mostly Old and Infirm Men & Women, and most importantly, Children who are as young as two years or even younger than that ( A few newborn children too have been victims of this Ceaseless Barbaric / Ghoulish and Macabre Military action by the Terrorist State of Israel) !

                 It really gladdens our Heart to Know that India did sensibly vote in Favour of the UNHRC resolution against Israel but at the same time it was indeed a Sad Spectacle once again to see that the US used its veto once again, for the umpteenth number of time, to protect its West Asian Surrogate / Stooge – Israel, obviously because of the Persistent High Pressure on it by the Most Powerful Lobby in the world – the American Zionist Lobby, and abstentions by most if not all Euro – Countries. This is sure to Create not just Umbrage in the Muslim World but it may entail, most unfortunately, a Boundless Muslim Rage the World Over that may Cause the Graph of International Islamist Terror to break through earlier levels, especially against US, UK and other Euro Interests as well as against even those other countries that have tried to go along with them senselessly on this vote through abstentions, despite the Social Media having brought to the Fore, especially this time around, all the Gory, Ghoulish and Macabre details of the Blood Thirsty nature of Israel’s Army Actions overruling  a consistently strident world opinion against such open barbarism by it.

                 Despite this set-back in the UNHRC, the Civil Society the World Over needs to continue to Pressurise Israel for a Long Duration (Permanent) Ceasefire as well as for a Final Two Nation Peaceful Solution to the Palestine–Israel Land dispute, using all the resources at its disposal, especially by taking up Economic and Other Sanctions on the Intransigent State of Israel by Convincing / Forcing their Governments towards this direction and ALSO by getting all IMPORTS from it BANNED as was done perseveringly for years to eventually subdue South Africa’s apartheid government in to surrendering  to the demands of the World Civil Society to abolish apartheid and form a truly Democratic Government by handing over political power to the Black Majority there!

LETTER NO :2

Dear Sir,

                 Subject:  Considering the rapid frequency with which Right-Wing Fringe elements have been “Heating up the Communal Cauldron”, it makes one wonder whether there is a “Method to this Madness” Date: July 27, 2014

Over the last two days I was forced to  WONDER, that considering  the high  frequency with which Right-Wing Fringe elements have been “Heating up the Communal Cauldron” for the last one week or so, whether there is a “Method to this Madness”?!

After some deep reflections over the ‘PATTERN’ of this Complete Series of  events / statements, I am forced to conclude that of course , there is a "Method to this Madness" from the Right Wing FRINGE GROUPS / ELEMENTS in India most of whom themselves ‘Claim their affiliation to the extended Sangh Parivar’!

  Considering the "rapid frequency of occurrence" of such "Communal Events / Statements" that got reported on almost  a DAILY BASIS within  the last one week or ten days, ONE is forced to CONCLUDE that all these EVENTS / STATEMENTS with COMMUNAL OVERTONES are all "PREPLANNED" with the TACIT understanding  of the RULING FACTION! AND the PURPOSE?

 It should have been CLEARLY OBVIOUS to any THINKING PERSON by now that this is an "ATTEMPT at DIVERTING People's ATTENTION" from the PRESSING day to day PROBLEMS such as, HIGH INFLATION, RAPID PRICE RISE of all commodities especially FOOD ITEMS, the NEAR DROUGHT condition in more than HALF of the Country because of the FAILED MONSON that  purportedly has already resulted in suicides by many Farmer’s,.. and so on!

This is an" OLD TRICK" of the "INDIAN POLITICAL TRADE" - that is to "DIVERT Public's FOCUS away from REAL PROBLEMS and shift towards 'Some or the Other Emotional Issue'; a TRICK that once up on a TIME, Mrs Indira Gandhi as the then PM of India had perfected in the late Nineteen SIXTIES & SEVENTIES! The present government has apparently, only taken a "LEAF" out of Mrs. Gandhi's Style of functioning!

Dear Sir,

            Subject:  Apropos the news report that some Latin American Countries, with Bolivia being one among them, have withdrawn their envoys from Israel and Bolivia has even designated Israel a Terrorist State for Continuing its   Inhuman Carnage and Mayhem in Gaza. Date: July 31, 2014

            Better late than never is what one feels, on knowing, that some Latin American Countries, with Bolivia being one among them, have withdrawn their envoys from Israel and Bolivia has even designated Israel a Terrorist State for Continuing its   Inhuman Carnage and Mayhem in Gaza!

            Israel, after making tall claims that it was targeting ONLY members of the HAMAS, the Political Party that was DEMOCRATICALLY elected by the people of Gaza in a free and fair election,( which claim itself is bizarre since it justifies their killing based on its ACCUSATIONS against them without ANY proof) , has mercilessly and relentlessly pounded mostly civilian targets in Gaza including UN Schools that were being used by the hapless civilians as Bomb Shelters having nowhere else to go!

Yesterday’s bombing of an UN school similarly for an umpteen number of time that was sheltering nearly 3000 old men, women and children by Israel, that resulted in thirty casualties as reported by independent sources, was probably the final straw on the camel’s back that  made the above mentioned Latin American Countries to take such a precipitate diplomatic action against Israel and also the US has, for the first time ‘Shown its Deep Displeasure’ at the ever increasing Gazan civilian casualties that stand at more than 1300 (1390 to quote CNN)  now with the number of those grievously hurt having crossed 8000!  

The UNSC has also shown its angst against the blatant disregard by Israel for World Body’s concern and Opinion against the Brutal Carnage in Gaza, but has also shown its acute inability under the threat of US veto, by just limiting its action to calling the countries to initiate their own independent punitive actions against Israel, a manifestation of which has been the action as mentioned above, by some Latin American Countries.

During John Kerry’s current visit, India as a growing Economic Power that has millennia old Friendly Relations with the Arabs, should use its influence to diplomatically influence the US,  to use its clout with the Israeli Establishment to COERCE it in to agreeing for a Permanent Truce and ceasefire in Gaza. Even if the US does not want to appear to be coercing Israel openly, it can always use its ‘Back Chanel’ diplomacy to do so because if at all any one country can make Israel see reason, it is the US always! AND it is also high time, that India too used its existing ‘Diplomatic Back Chanel’ with Israel to make it do the needful!

LETTER NO :4

Dear Sir,

            Subject:  The Dead in India are either cremated or buried according to their faith, but unfortunately nearly two hundred persons have got buried ALIVE in Malin village (Ambegaon taluk) near Pune. Date July 31, 2014

            It’s a human tragedy of gargantuan proportions that a sleepy hamlet of nearly seven hundred unsuspecting tribal people got totally buried under a mountain of sliding rocks and soil that has so far ( 2.00 Pm on July 31, 2014) resulted in thirty two deaths as confirmed officially with  many more (almost 150 of them) still under the debris.

            No doubt, the incessant rain over the last three days, that is still continuing, has certainly made the rescue operations difficult, but looking at the tardy rescue efforts on display at the site of this natural calamity, one has a gut wrenching feeling that the government machinery has already given up the hope of finding any more survivors and is casually going ahead with a certainty that they are digging for dead bodies! I am sure the visit of the Home Minister has done more harm to the rescue mission than helped it by diverting the focus of the ‘Rescue Teams’; except that, several politicians and officials together with the Home Minister got a ‘Photo Op’ for the consumption of Electronic Media’s discussion panels tonight in all the TV news channels!

            The Inept Maharashtra Government and the ‘promising to be a harbinger of “Acche Din”  –Government of Mr. Modi’, should spare no efforts in the current Rescue and subsequent Rehabilitation  of those victims of this landslide who have already survived and those others still under the debris who also may luckily survive this ordeal of getting buried alive. AND for the future “Acche Din” of many such hamlets that dot our unsafe rural landscape facing  constant threats of such landslides all over the country, the central and the state governments should come up with a long term “Rehabilitation Scheme” on a permanent basis in Safer Areas so that such heart rending  tragedies’ are prevented in future.
